Thanks for all the words. I guess that I am just burned out right now and a little disappointed.
When I got my car, I had an expectation that it would live up to my other Porshces. From a driving stand point, it's just as good if not better, but as far as durability, it's been a huge let down. The only car that I have ever owned that was worse was a 190E AMG.
Mine has been well maintained, had records, not too many owners, not too many miles (90K, about 6K miles per year when I got it) local car... all the right stuff. I took it to a shop for a PPI, some small issues were noted but nothing major. I have only put 33K miles on it so far, I don't daily drive it because I can walk to work.
Perhaps my 944 and 911 were unicorns, but they were really great cars. The 944 was my first sports car and I beat the crap out of it and it never complained. I got it with 120K on it, did some basic maintenance and upgrades, did track and autocross days and drove it back and forth from Seattle to LA 4 or 5 times a year and it was totally solid. It had 245K on it when it got rear ended and totaled. It was going to need a valve job, but that was fine with me. My 911 was also a really solid car. It had some issues, but there were many more miles between them.
I am leaning towards fixing my car. I am going to have the start rattle diagnosed, get that fixed and have the M030 kit installed, drive it for 3 months and see. At least at that point I can sell it if keeps breaking.
