Troubleshooting Tips Please - New Radio

I began the install process last winter of a double-din unit in my '03 w/Bose system. Replaced head unit, amp with two amps, dash speakers, door speakers, and subs in rear deck.

All worked well for a while, then the subs no longer played. After some testing, I pulled the head unit and swapped out my expensive Knu Konceptz RCA cable for a $2 one and the subs came back on. One of the Knu Knoceptz cable ends fell off, so I soldered it back on and plugged it back into the head unit, and the subs came back on, so I thought all was well. Couple of weeks later they went out again.

Pulled the head unit and pushed on the RCA connection and it went in and out, then I pressed on the connector into the head unit and they all went in and out. So, I thought it was a problem with the head unit. Nope, I didn't have a digital multi-meter until today.

I purchased a new head unit, installed it, and all sounded well, so I thought it really was the head unit. Slid the new HU back in and the subs cut out. Wiggled the HU up and down and the subs went in and out. Replaced the RCA cable and the new HU sounded great.

All this testing has been with the key in Accessory. Tried to start the car so make sure there wasn't any alternator noise, and there was a loud pop and nothing from the battery. Put my battery charger on it for an hour and then started the car. One big problem, the HU won't turn on now. The amps are not lit either.

A friend told me to unsolder the blue Remote wire and red wires and touch the blue wire to the red and see if the amps light up. They do. No he said to touch the blue wire to the yellow wires and see if the amps light up. They do not.

I pulled the fuses in E1 and replaced them. Also pulled the 10amp fuse from the back of the HU, and it looks just fine.

Any troubleshooting assistance would be greatly appreciated.
