Vents blowing foam pieces

Just wondered if others have had the same happen. I have little pieces of foam (insulation) blowing out of the dash vents. It's meduim dark gray in color and I assume its just the foam used to insulate the vents. Every once in awhile a few will blow out. I'm not concerned since I assume some deterioration is to be expected with a car that is 16 yrs old (98' standard Boxster w/ 72,000 miles)...i assume just normal due to age.

Nevermind.....I should have done a thread search first. Seems its a common problem with aging cars....for now I'll ignore it since the system seems to be working fine. Best to leave it well enogh alone.

Welcome to the old car club! Foam deteriorating and blowing out the vents is pretty common in cars from warm climates. My F150 started doing that after 7 years.

My '04 is doing this as well. Still gets chilly inside so I'm not worried.
