Suspension Overhaul Project Parts list & prices

OK folks, sorry for the repost, but i think its appropriate to start a new thread.

I have finally decided to do the overhaul project, due to the clanking noises and also wiggling feel of the front and rear of the car over bumps.

Here are my cars specs: 2001 Boxster Base, with standard suspension. I have 68,000 kms on my car at the moment. I am running 18" cayman wheels.

... itd be great if someone can sanity check this (make sure I have the right parts & the right quantity - as some parts are labeled for 996)... i've built a quote in pelican for the parts I need for my suspension overhaul project.

I have EXCLUDED the struts as I will be sourcing the bilstein struts separately & i am re-using my original springs to maintain my current ride height.

There are a couple of parts you will require:

1) Shock upper support mounts (front) x 2. The rubber inserts wear and can knock.
2) Shock upper support bearings (front) x 2. These bearings allow the strut to turn & can rust.
3) You make no mention of new bolts and nuts - its very advisable to replace all used hardware on a suspension upgrade.
4) Item 6 on list - control arm link, you will need 2.
5) I see no mention of the front & rear Control Arms (coffin arms) x 4 - but maybe our descriptions in Australia and the UK are different to the US.
I would suggest you go through the PET diagrammes and double check your parts requirements before ordering.

Pelican sells a complete suspension overhaul kit for about $2150.00. You may not want to buy the full kit, but it might be helpful to have a look at what the kit includes to see if there is anything you want to add to your list.

@perfectlap ... 68K km ..is ~42,500 miles.

@mark_T the suspension overhaul kit did not include any of the upper mount components ...

i was hoping that it would include everything except for the strut & springs ... seems not so.
