New to Tiptronic transmission

I have a 2003 S, 23,800 miles, with the auto transmission. I don't want to abuse the transmission due to my ignorance of how to drive it in manual mode. Should I let off the gas when shifting up and down or just hold the accelerator steady?
Any education would be welcome. This is the first Porsche I have owned and I'm still in the "awe" stage of the machine.

jake's right. it won't let you do anything that would damage the engine or transmission.

if i'm downshifting to pass, i keep my foot on the gas. if i'm downshifting because i'm slowing down i lift.

upshifting i don't lift from the gas.

How about some pics of the awe machine. Doesn't exist if there are no pics.
