Has anybody on this forum bought a

new Boxster and still have it? What are your experiences of having a Boxster under warranty and did they honor the warranty? I don't think that I will ever be in this situation!
Cheers Guy.

Bought mine new in 2001. I had a few issues under warranty that were addressed without issue. RMS was replaced under extended warranty and the IMS has not been touched.

I bought mine new in 2003. The most 'serious' issues I've had were leaky RMS seals replaced twice under warranty ( last was the upgraded 2005 seal which has been bone dry since) - they also replaced the flywheel at the same time for some reason. Dealer also replaced a worn steering tie rod (worn bushing)- all under warranty without any issues.

I've had a few other minor fixes out of warranty that I paid for; split axle bellow, front engine mount, MAF and engine temp sensors, but that's about it other than maintenance stuff; one set off front pads and rotors, fluid & filter changes, etc. Car's been pretty reliable with 65K to date.

yup me, MY2001 Boxster end 2k, best experiences, no regrets, original IMS/RMS, after 10 years of ownership I was offered a classic card by Porsche...(cars age)%-discount on parts.

I never bought a used car...probably never will...hmmmm wrong...exception Porsche 911 Urmodell

The smell of a new car is worth the extra money, can't fake that with spray

I bought my '99 and still have it, although the miles are very low. I had one warranty/recall related to seat belts and that was addressed early on, otherwise nothing under warranty.

Yup. Had 1 bulb burn out in my 2006 987. Had several check engine lights and a battery that died that the dealer replaced free of charge (out of warranty) on my 2009 997.2. Haven't had an issue yet with the 2013 981.

I bought Punkin new on NYE 2007. Only warranty issue was the water pump shot craps at 26K mi. They flatbeded it for free, gave me a Panamera to drive while she was in the shop, and gave me a half gallon of Porsche antifreeze to top off the system. She also had a temp sensor go 6 mo out of warranty but that was only $40 and 2 hrs of my time to replace.

Bought new in 2002. Rms fixed under original warranty (slight leak, no drip on garage, and they weren't even sure about it, but what the hey, they offered to fix it for free), ignition switch got covered under extended warranty I bought (non-Porsche warranty). That's it.

Had power steering fluid reservoir changed because I tracked the **** out of the poor little car. And it really was only a plastic sleeve that connected the tube to the reservoir that melted and failed. Of course, had to replace the whole damn unit instead of the sleeve...

New in 2001, dealer replaced the right rear wheel bearing, the muffler, and the climate control display while under warranty.

I just sold mine but bought it back in 1/02. Only thing it ever needed under warranty was to tighten a screw that came loose in the door and loose heated sat harness. I was unhappy that porsche didnt want to repair a leaky ims flange a few months after my warranty expired. I let it leak for 7 years until i replaced the clutch and imsb. Although tge flange was leaking the imsb was fine. Recently sold and replaced witg an 02 996tt
