Love the stripe! On that color car it works VERY well. I decided on my Cobalt blue that it doesn't work.

Okay, how hard to do?
Personally, love the stripe, especially on a silver car. To me, it's a very classic look and I love it.
So - how hard is it to do this? How steady of a hand and how easy is it to get straight? The one picture makes it look like a peel and stick decal, but assume there is more to it than that?

The videos make it it look real easy, and I consider myself pretty handy with this type of work, so I bought the stripes and managed to screw it up.
I've since bought another set and will have it professionally installed in the spring.

I did my own and spent about 30 min per side. It's tricky, but a laser level and some basic knowledge on application of vinyl will help. Lots of water helps.

Just want to make clear that I would take any one of these cars in a heartbeat. It's just a matter of seasoning to suit your taste. Ergo, the steak reference. It's your car, gotta please yourself.

Yes to the stripe ...I really like the look it gives, although there are those that say it looks tacky but I would disagree!!

Thanks "itsnotanova" ..I actually purchased an original set of the side stripes (they were in the original package but unusable because of age) I was able to have my nephew who has a car accessory shop make a new set from them out of vinyl. He put them on for me and I think they look great. Some have commented on the front piece not looking right and I somewhat agree but haven't had a chance to see how it would look if i changed it.

As stated in a previous thread, I think the stripe looks too "80's".
Which is fine if you're going for the Sonny Crockett look. Just don't forget the pastel dress t-shirt and unstructured jacket. Oh, and the half-shaved face look...........
Just sayin'.............

I've had this conversation with JD more than once. Heliguy, there seem to be two camps on this topic;
1 - The "Less is More" camp where I reside
2 - The "Keep Buying Crap from the AutoZone Accessories Aisle until Portholes are the Last Thing Left" camp
Oh, and I forgot; The "If it isn't on Fire or Moving PlastiDip It" camp
Where do you want to be?
I hope you understand the above was Sarcasm......but seriously, the natural lines of the 986 should say enough. Just my opinion, your car your choice....

Of course I get sarcasm, but I just bought curb feelers, chrome door edge protectors and chrome vents to put on my front fenders from Pep Boys...no Photoshopping those on my car, Nine8Six.

That must mean you started driving in the 80's.
The Porsche lettering have been on their cars since at least the 1960's. Ferry Porsche had door decals on his personal one-off 2.7 Carrera.
Many will recall this now famous IROC race featuring a bevvy of Carrera beauties in 1973. Long before Sonny Crocket was busting narcos in his fake Daytona Spyder.
Awesome YouTube video called by Sir Jackie.

And fast forward four decades and the Porsche decals still look good on your lightest, best handling Porsche for less than $100K.
