Mesh radiator gurards

Has anyone installed the radiator guards from ********************************************? Or are there any other choices. Just blew a bunch of leaves out of both radiators. I vacuumed and got little. I then reversed the air flow and blew out a whole bunch of stuff that was not visible. I need to drop the bumper and give them a thorough cleaning and am wondering if these screens are worth the price and effort?

I bought these:
Porsche Boxster Front Bumper Mesh Grill Kit 986 | eBay

But really, you can make them yourself with some gutter guard. I think they look great though and really cuts down on the debris!

I also have these if you are interested. I bought them on eBay and thought I could match the mesh for my center radiator but gave up looking when I saw the others. PM me if you are interested.

My concern is that they will also reduce air flow to the radiators by about 1/3rd.

Brad
If cars like these can handle some mesh, I am not too worried about mine

To me not having done it is another risk factor just like not having the ims replaced.
Everything not being done comes with a degree of risk.

How lucky or unlucky do you feel?(courtesy of Clint Eastwood).

I certainly wouldn't put it at the level of replacing the IMS and indeed, radiator replacements seem pretty unusual for these cars - even though some are now 17 years old. That being said, it would be nice not to have to remove the bumpers every couple of years to clean out the radiators.

My concern about reduced air flow is not so much at speed (as would occur with cars used in racing), but in stop and go traffic where temperatures seem to rise even without the obstruction of a heavy mesh grill. However, if no one who has installed them has experienced a problem with this, then I guess it is win/win at a low price.

Brad

PS And yes Haz, I was being serious - it certainly appears that the spaces between the metal cross pieces is approximately twice the size of the cross pieces themselves.

What holds them in place? On my RX-8 I bought screen from McMaster. On that car, they were just sandwiched in, so no special brackets or anything to think of.

I used some stainless screws/washers and black zip ties.
