I'm assuming those costs are over the life of the vehicle? $5K-$6k in maintenance over the life of the Cayenne turbo isn't bad

Kinda silly. Would have been more accurately titled "10 Cars with Lots of Depreciation" because that is the biggest cost component for every car nominated; ranging from $66K to $145K.

Don't think this article is very accurate considering Italian cars like Ferrari and Lamborghini didn't make the list.
Depreciation...ding!
Maintenance/repairs...ding!
Insurance...ding!
Taxes...ding!
Gas mileage...ding!
Porsches are cheap relatively speaking.
Hell! One lambo e-gear clutch is $15k every 7500-10k miles. Sheesh!

I was under the impression the PDK is similar in function as the Volkswagen DSG/Audi S-Tronic double-clutch boxes, while the Lamborghini E-Gear is a single-clutch sequential (similar to the BMW SMG).
For what it's worth, I had a VW DSG and it was fantastic though it needed fluid/filter changes every 40k.

I have a Dsg in my Skoda Octavia 2011,its been replace in 18 months and 18000 miles due to jerky gear change, it would have cost over £2000 if not under warranty,,

No one really knows yet as there aren't many with 120K miles or 12+ years old...yet.
But consider this - a PDK has two clutches, several servos, many sensors, and a complex computer controller. And most of the parts that might fail are inside the transmission, meaning that the trans must be removed and opened up for repairs.
Do you think this is going to be inexpensive to repair?

Heck. If any clutch will last 100k miles, it has lasted it's service life IMO.
I just replaced the clutch on my quattroporte after 35k miles for $4200 at an Indy mechanic and I am fully satisfied with the car/use/value.

It's taken me a year to add 800 miles to my car.
I've got time . . .
Plus I don't have the attention span to keep it for 8+ years.
