Yeah, but that is a recent development (turning in ammo). I'm sure not all the ammo got turned in and you can keep your weapon once leaving the service, which leaves a lot of potential owners with ammo. We are only talking about the officially provided ammo, as well.

Dangerous cities seem to coincide with weak economies and not so much gun laws. case in point, there are just as many pro-gun states as strict gun states in the top 10 list of most dangerous cities.
