My intake has the same lip on the leading edge as linked by Radium.

auto atlanta says that the right side vent changed in 99, 02 and 03, while the left side vent changed in 02 and 03. so, the op's 01 would be the same as my 00 which has the lip to deflect water away from the air intake on the left side.
