				Help!!! My OBC Showing THIS:(
			 
			 
			
		
		
		
			Help.... My OBC started to shows this today while I was driving. I was driving 40mph. My engine doesn't make any weird sound nor has it reduced it's power. I've tried to open and close the gas cap properly. 
Am I in big trouble?
 
My car model is Boxster 2000 2.7L Tiptronic. Thanks for your comments

Search the forum for CEL or Check Engine Light.  There's a post where somebody provided all the codes and Porsche's summary (not the fix). 
 
I've been driving with mine on for a month.  Replaced AOS, was good for a few days, then it came on again.  Now waiting for MAF.

			An alignment can not give you a check engine light (CEL)  
MAF stands for mass airflow sensor and AOS for air oil separator both of which are frequent causes for CELs

So I visited Autozone and here are the codes: 
 
Troubleshooting: P1115 
 
Definition: 
HO2S sensor heater circuit short to ground bank 1 
Sensor 1 
Explanation: 
Open or short circuit condition 
Probable cause: 
Failed HO2S11 (Heated Oxygen sensor- Bank 1 sensor). 
 
The other code is P0455 
This is a correct. The top cover of the fuel cap magnetic lock is not functioning. It doesn't lock. I bought a new fuel cap with a key that locks the cap to secure the gas tank. 
 
What do I do now? 
 
Also some questions:  
 
1. Which code reader/engine scanner/Diagnostic Tool is the best? Autozone used an Actron. 
2. Can I actually disconnect the battery while I work in Boxster? There is information that I can disconnect only for 20 secs.

It really doesn't make a difference which OBDII scanner you're using they're all the same.  If you want more (Porsche specific) info you need to get a Durametric scanner

			I think there's a servo (an electric motor- right?) that locks and unlocks the fuel filler door. Maybe just sticking from sitting or there's corrosion in the contacts?

			Gentlemen.... so according to the scanner my problem code is P1115. Which oxygen sensor do I need to replace. How many oxygen sensors are there? Do I need to replace them all? 
 
Is it possible that the scanner might have a faulty code because my fuel  flap is broken?

			Bank 1 is the passenger side of the car. Sensor 1 is the O2 sensor in front of the catalytic converter. 
 
It's best if you purchase a sensor that includes the connector. Often, sensors with splices cause faults because the spliced electrical connection is weak.

Hi Paul... Thanks. it's good to know that I won't fiddle with the electric line while I take care of my sensors and the fuel flap. 
 
What if I have to disconnect the battery line for another job? Right now I've got three issues with my Boxster. It's drivable without taking care of these issues however I want to fix them all:
 
1. Glass not dropping while opening the passenger door. After getting help from our fellow Boxster owners I'm ready to work on this. There are threads where Boxster owner are saying battery needs to disconnected while dealing with the door. i.e. the entire panel will be taken out. 
 
Is it okay to keep the battery disconnected for hours?
 
2. Fuel Flap. I still need more information. I've been browsing the net but I'm still not satisfied with the information. I may end up driving without fixing he fuel flap though CEL will always remain if I don't take care of this.
 
I can always buy a scanner and check regularly if my CEL is indicating anything more than my fuel flap.
 
3. Oxygen sensors. On the process of being fulfilled with information
 
To take care of all these 3 issues will be a whole day job for me

Hi Paul my Fuel Flap does not work. Will it trigger a troubleshooting code? The pin that locks the fuel flap is totally out of order.
 
I can still go back to my Porsche Fuel cap however the OBC might be activating this code about the fuel cap.
