I think the Honda Insight design was chosen to enable the driver to look down his/her nose at drivers they felt were inferior.

I love my HHR Panel - it's the regular HHRs I find ugly. Though I've always been partial to Panel trucks & Sedan Deliveries.

That's an Isetta, it originated with the Italian refrigeration manufacturer of Iso SpA later built under licence by Velam (France) and Romi (Brazil) and then by BMW the BMW badge is evident on the door/hood
