Funny you should suggest that. When I first picked up the GT3 bumper I also ordered the factory 996 GT2 inlet which is similar to what you have on yours.
I ended up never installing it.
Probably because it took me a year to get around to installing the actual bumper after it arrived!
But as you can see below it matches the width of the Boxster hood perfectly.
