Thanks for the honesty guys. I don't think it matches as well as the stock knob either. I mainly just hate how light and cheap the stock one feels. I bought this one for the weight. It weighs 1.5lbs and the extra heft feels great in hand. I won't get a chance to drive with it for another month or so but if the extra weight doesn't end up changing the shifting feel that much then I'll be putting the stock one back on. Thankfully I didn't cut the original boot up to put the new one on.

Just purchased a 1997 base with 34k miles, tires were 12 years old so I had Michillin PS3 put on,
Car runs like and handles like new.

Pickup up my car from the shop today where they installed a few gifts to myself:

Koni sport shocks
H&R springs
Techno Brace
new alignment
LN ISMB (second one; PO put one in at 90K, I've got 146k on her now)
997 RMS
UDP
drivers side cat from Woody (thanks!) - probably damaged when gas station swapped diesel and super in their tanks last year
repair small transmission leak (they fabbed the brass bearing that failed)
987 engine mount
transmission mount
comfort blinkers (used Audi harness)
nine8six's lighted windscreen (finally)

Car feels so much tighter and solid with a little pep early in the RPM range. Love the lowered look but would like spacers now, lol.

Very nice preventative upgrades

Can we see some photos of the car before and after it was lowered on the new shocks/springs?

How were the motor mounts and transmission mounts treating you before you did this replacement?

Thanks,
Randy

I'll work on the photo's to see what I've got from before.

The mounts were terrible, clearly waited too long. They were thumping on gear shift changes and providing a small shutter. Now, tight as a drum.

Installed my cat delete pipes. Really wanted to dump the factory muffler but after doing much reading decided to stick with the muffler and delete pipes to see how I like it. Really pleased with the outcome. Used some Easy Seal exhaust clamps to hopefully not have any leaks with the pipes I used.

Left my driver door open overnight and learned how to find the "emergency" frunk release cable that lives in front of the passenger fender well. Glad I found out how to get to it in the garage instead of in a parking lot in August. I did attempt first to use the little pull out contact spot in the fuse box but could only get it to activate the solenoid, not release the latch. Oh well, at least now I know where it is.

Replacement pn is ;

tip: Only loosen the two top bolts that holds the engine mount to the engine, do not remove. Ask me how I know...

Are you talking about the piece n front of the front wheel? There is a under body trim piece that was loose when I took the pic.

That looks slick Coaster! I would like to do something similar but not sure I could get my floor jack under there!

Swapped out the cigarette lighter socket with the new standard size version. This way I can plug in a trickle charge and hopefully keep the battery fully charged. Finding the emergency frunk release with a dead battery was educational but I would rather not repeat that.

I was planning on doing my motor mount this weekend but it was much colder than expected so I decided to put it off until next weekend. I'm hoping it makes a big difference!

I went to change my low beam bulbs and accidentally changed the high beams... so I went back and switched everything to the way it was supposed to be. I think my headlights are pointed a little lower than they should be but I will fix that soon.

One of the buttons on my key fob PCB broke today...Porsche quoted me $380 for programmed new one. Wife had no faith in me that I could fix it. Found my soldering iron and fixed it right up. I guess I should get a key cut so I have a spare.
