Looks good! I like the accent color on the dash. I did mine when I swapped mine out. It was a little scary but feels good to do my own mods.

I fitted heated seats and a dash cam to mine. There's not much to see apart from the switches in the batwing. The camera is hidden behind the mirror so had to take the photo from the side:

Nice work! I've been running a dash cam for about a year now but have yet to fully integrate it or its wiring.

Which dashboard cam did you get? All the ones I saw had a screen built in and were kind of big, I like the way yours is hidden behind the mirror.

Did you take the airbag cover out to get the screws behind the trim? I can get the first few screws on either side of the long trim piece from behind the dash, but the airbag gets in the way of the middle screws.

Yep. There is a large aluminum frame back there that prevents access like mentioned in another thread.

The airbag is held in by 2 bolts (13mm iirc) and slides right out. Wish I had done this first as it makes getting the long piece out much easier.

Washed on Sunday and put a "986" decal on my spoiler. [FAIL]On Monday I realized that the 8 was upside down and I took it back off.[/FAIL]

I got rid of my security lug nuts and installed my silver turn signal bulbs on the rear.

I just speckled some high temp silver spray paint on my amber bulbs. Just a light speckling so that the light output is still bright, but the amber is toned down a bit.
It's kind of halfway between your before and after pictures.

Replaced my broken, cracked, brittle, faded, wiper cowl panel. Not a tough job just a bit tricky getting the seal on top right. Got the part from my local dealer 136.00 and 3.00 each for the end caps, so not too bad. New one looks so much better!

I replaced the Titanium colored trim that surrounds the windscreen (windshield) on my 2001 Boxster S.

For those thinking of doing this, one word. DON'T! Seriously, the whole job (removing the old trim and then installing the new one) was a real ********************!

For those who absolutely HAVE to do this, I'll be writing up a DIY on how I did it and the somewhat unorthodox tools I used as soon as I recover from the ordeal.

For the record, I started the job yesterday but in very short order I ran into an OSM ("Oh Sh&^# Moment" - the moment you realize you are in over your head and should have just left it alone).

SO, I stopped and spent the better part of last evening thinking about how to solve the problem. I re-tackled it this morning, armed with a new tool and a LOT of patience.

It came out great (looks brand new) and when properly installed it will not let loose at 100+ mph. The trim is pressed on to the edge of the windshield - the cross section looks like a C. The inside bottom of the C channel has a rubber friction strip that grips the windshield.

I ordered the replacement trim from Pelican (Part # OEM-986541541029A4). Cost was exactly $80 including $11.75 for shipping. That may sound like a lot for the shipping, but since the trim is pre-bent to the shape of the windshield and can't be folded, the box was the size of a windshield! That shipping charge was actually quite cheap! As always, Pelican did an awesome job with the packing - and it's super important because one bend or kink and it's game over.

Well I bought a Boxster a couple of weeks ago. It had a recent clutch job and brakes with mew rotors. I couldn't see pulling the clutch to change the RMS that had already passed during the clutch install. So I immediately ordered a guardian kit from pelican. Along with some other stuff. I started the egg guardian install last night and finished it up today. I can't really hear the buzzer so I stop by RadioShack and bought an external hundred and 20 dB alarm. I'll install that tomorrow and then flush the brake system. It's been an awesome car to drive already put 3000 miles on it and the last couple of weeks. I've been wrenching on jeeps for years and this was the cleanest or something I've ever seen and it's 80,000 mile car. There was only a few small little pieces of plastic in the pan. I was real happy about that. There are a few small things that I need to do that came up from the PPI. Including getting a button for the CDR. But I'd rather listen to the engine then the radio.
