Did an oil and filter change...

10 quarts of Joe Gibbs Racing DT40 and a Wix 51348 oil filter (slightly different filter than the normal LN spin on filter because I have an IMS Solution).

Then took her out for a nice long drive.

Finished weekend trip

Well great trip in the box with the wife. Went to the area where Spanish ham is produced. Went into an old templario church, and side trip to another really small town that was beutiful. Return trip when weather permits top down driving. Wanted a phot of the car next to the church but wife was scared to drive up the hill. Lol

Color matched the black bumperette

Bought a couple of used ones from Woody and painted them. Much better than the scuffed up old black rubber!

Temp here today was in the 50's. Took the winter car cover off and let it run for a bit, took it for a quick spin. Weather looks nice for tomorrow, going to take the Boxster to work.

The car is still settling down after an engine swap. I took it out to a local indy shop and he gave me the latest version of the coolant cap--I gave him my K&N oil filters which I don't need since I got the spin on adapter.

It really is settling down! The D-4 lights for the TIP stopped flashing and the paddles work again. Doesn't appear to be marking it's territory, either. Still burning off the oil on the engine, so it does stink. But not leaking coolant anymore and that's a good thing.

He was kinda impressed that I changed the motor myself. I'm 66 year old guy. Spent lots of time on the deck of the carport on my back.

Around 0100hr finished a 30hr drive from SLC to BHM with my 11yo daughter as copilot. Mountains, deserts, rain, sleet, and snow, and top-down 70 degree sunny weather too.
Great experience, now back to work...

Full Day of PCA Fun

The day started with our monthly breakfast meeting. Then a drive out to the Palm Springs Air Museum for a special tour. The museum is devoted to WW2 and later planes. The docents are top-notched. They have a couple of military planes that you can get rides in. They will take you up in their P-51, for a 30 minute flight around the surrounding valley and local mountains, for $1,800.00. The couple who sponsored the event invited everybody back to their house (Palm Desert) for catered Italian. We had +/- 30 cars and over 40 people. Great mix of cars with several 718's on hand.

I know the feeling. We are supposed to get another 5-8" of snow tomorrow, following two 6-8" snowfalls in the 2 weeks. I'm ready for Spring!
Good news is I can usually get the Boxster out by April 1st.

30K Service On a '97

Filter was clean as a whistle. It's the simple things in life that bring the greatest joy.

The radiators weren't as bad as I thought they might be. There was more debris sandwiched between the slabs.
