Well at least we know they're inexpensive and replaceable. I have yet to eat any cones at autocross, but I expect that if I ever do these are likely to die in the process.

Hopefully this shouldn't go under the "What's the dumbest Boxster question?" thread, but here goes: At that ******************************************** site, when you click on that part number what comes up is "Brake Spoiler Edge". This has something to do with the brakes? I thought it was for cooling the transmission?

Yes, it was described as that on pelican's site also. I just ordered two of them and two sets of 'push buttons' - However the part # on my existing one is 986 331 361 02. The ending '02' is for '97 - '00 models and the '03' is for the newer 986s. They were almost too cheap to be true. Only $2.50 for the ones ending in 02. I got my glasses on and held my existing one in my hand and typed the pn right off of the part itself.... sooooooo???? we'll see. Maybe an error on their site??

Update: It was too good to be true. I just got off the phone w/pelican and the push button things are used with the newer designed part ending in .03 - The $2.50 ea. price was old and hadn't been updated. Also even if I did get the old style ones the push button things would not have been applicable. (I don't think?) - So I upgraded to the newer style ones and got off the extra $15!

I need to get a life.

The 986 331 361 03 has superseded the "02" version used on the older 986's.
It will fit fine and there is only a slight difference in the appearance of them. It is what I put on my 2000 S and when it is under the car, nobody will be able to tell the difference.
BTW, mine came with the plastic push button rivet included even though the independent shop ordered one separately. So I have an extra push button rivet in case I run over a cone someday.

That's good to know as I also have a '00S. I guess I'll have two extra sets of button rivets as well.

Do you have the part # for the push buttons?

Thanks

They way I understand it they are in two part #s - You need one of each pn# for each side. They were only $1.50 ea.

999-507-774-40

999-507-775-40

The one I got was a 999-507-774-40 and it came complete with both pieces, a plastic rivet and a snap. Not sure why they show two different part numbers when they are the same for both sides unless it is a newer version. If someone gets a 999-507-775-40, tell us what it is, if there is a difference.

Ok I received a 775-40 pn# yesterday. I've attached a pic that should explain it or make it more confusing. I ended up with two male and two female pieces. I really had to use a lot of force to snap them together. I almost gave up and was going to rely on how they were before with no push button snaps. I finally bent the rubber spoiler over and snapped them together with a pair of vice grips. You'll feel a solid snap when they do come together. The spoilers came from pelican and they had to get the push buttons from ATL.

Hard to tell from the pictures what is in each package. Was there one male and female in each package, or two of each in each package?
