I guess I am the youngest one in the group. Im 19 turning 20 this year. I run my discount store with my family and currently studying mechanical engineering. I currently own a 2000 base boxster 113,000 now. This is my second car but my first Porsche. My first car being a 1995 Mitsubishi eclipse GSX, which was given to me by my dad after he change his car for a Mitsubishi montero.

Sweet man Ill hopefully be done by 2014 how about you. Apparently engineers are drawn towards the boxsters, which is good news, lets us know that most of the technical advice we get is coming from a good background.

Wow...a lot of analyzers thus far in this group. And judging by the tech know-hows/instructions, I am very lucky to be a part of this forum.
Although I am to admit my OCD nature also...38 yo, bought Box new in 02, Dentist.
It helps that my wife is a doctor also. Life is good!

OK, first post but been lurking a while. Retired 65 year old Industrial Engineer. Worked in electronics and communication. Also retired USAFR Officer.
2001 Base, Tiptronic, 42k miles. Owened about 6 months.
Previous fun cars. 1972 911T, 1971 911S, 1968 1912 -ground up restoration. 924 - don't remember year, 1984 911 Carrera, 1989 911 Targa, 64 Pontiac GTO, 65 Pontiac GTO, 2000cc Datsum Roadster, 1970 Fiat 850 Spider (yes it was actually fun), 1957 T Bird, some big block hot rod trucks and a couple of Dragsters. Yes, it is a sickness.

I am painfully aware of the lost opportunity cost of owning a Porsche, however that can be saved a bit when one uses the rapid depreciation of a used European car in their favor.

i'm 44. civil engineer. 01 base box. got it with 62k miles...now has 135k....with new/used engine (IMS failure...died at 129k).
wife is 43 with an 02 S. she's an english teacher. 35k on her's.

1st pcar - if something happened I'd replace it. Don't think I'll ever be without a Porsche again. Not a car guy but it is just great fun to drive.
Also 2002 Subaru Outback, 1992 Acura

I'm 38 years old machine and metal engineer. Working as a project manager for a drill rig manufacturer.
Boxster is my first Porsche and my other current cars are:
- VW Bug split window -50 (endurance racing car)
- VW Bug split window -51 (project)
- VW Bug Karmann Cabriolet -69 (project)
- VW Bug standard -70 (project)
- VW Vanagon T3 Syncro -91
- Opel Astra 2.0Di -98
- VW Golf 2.0TDI 4Motion -05
The only former car I miss is Lancia Delta HF Integrale. Loved that rally car, but it was always broken...
Never owned Japan or American car.

43, Instrument & Electrical Lead Technician at a PVDF Plastics manufacturing plant.
I bought my CPO '06 Base 2 years ago after my '94 Integra became too much trouble, and I couldn't bear driving a pickup every day! One of the best purchases I've ever made.
Other vehicles: 2000 K2500 crew cab Pickup, '89 Toyota Pickup, YZF600, '90 KDX200, '65 Mustang (project), '78 Van Dieman Formula Ford.
Past vehicles: 69' Mustang, 80's Subaru. ( huh, that's not very many! )

I have been a flight service instructor for a major airline ,ski instructor,restaurant owner,sailing enthousiast,motorcycle maniac.Am now 65 with a Boxster 2000 with 60000 miles and love the car.Previous cars.......everything from a 914,Tr7,MGB,Corvettes,Fiat X 1/9,Triumph GT6,Mercedes c-300.
