There is a TON of ethanol free gas your great State of Minn. You just have to know where to look. IMHO, 91 pure gas is better than 93 with ethanol:

2001, 28 highway, 21 around town, I like to floor it often. 93 Octane BP with 10% ethanol.

97 with about 44k, haven't done my calculations as frequently, but I usually try to fill up at about 1/4 tank, so out of the 3/4 or so that I do go through I've seen anywhere from 19-23mpg, depending on how much of it is highway, which isn't much unless I'm taking the car out for a run or have a trip with a good length of highway involved, otherwise it's mostly city and local turnpike driving, coupled with ethanol everywhere, so my mileage isn't great...plus I'm not nice to it once it warms up.

I've got a 2.7l Tip - average about 17.75mpg.... but then it's normally fast highway driving, cruise at about 4k+rpm...

Would be interested to see what other tiptronic boxsters are getting...

I buy alcohol free 91 octane gas.

My 1998 2.5 5 speed got 24-26 around town and 30-33 on the road trips. I whaled on her often.

My 2000 S 6 speed gets 20-22 around town and 25-28 on road trips. Oh yes, I whale on her often too.

I have an 08 base Cayman (2.7L). I just took a 400 mile road trip; averaged 26.5 mpg at 60-70 mph speeds with some city driving. Nearly finished the whole trip on one tank. Not bad. In just urban driving, I usually get 23-24 mpg.

Wow! 450 miles per tank on the highway!

I've never gotten much over 360-375 miles in a tank (23.5 mpg). I click the mileage reset after every fill up and generally put in 16 gallons every time. I've never, ever, reached 400 miles. I can't imagine averaging 450 miles.

I have noticed a big difference with the top off. Definitely lose a few miles per gallon.

I generally get 325 miles per tank (20.3 mpg) in mixed highway/city (top up/top down) driving.

the furthest i've ever pushed it was 400 miles and i was sweating bullets (mostly because i turned the a/c off at the end) when i finally found a gas station.

i guess theoretically you can get 450 miles on a tank. that comes out to around 26.6 mpg using every last drop...

I figure efficiency improved as the years progressed even with the increases in horsepower, but if I remember right the sticker on the car said 24 or 26 highway during the first years of the car. I never expect to get sticker estimates, so I'm happy so long as it's in the 20s. I don't know how some people are getting that good mileage unless you're really cruising at the speed limit in top gear, which I'd love to do if the engine didn't apparently dislike it so much.

Boxster 2.5 w tiptronic, ECU is tuned/remapped

I get 21-22mpg mixed driving. Around 24mpg highway.

Before the tuning I got 18-19mpg

Getting a remap is the best performance mod done so far, better fuel economy and more power!

My combined city and mountain driving nets 26 - 28.6 MPG. It doesn't matter if I'm kickin' it in the mountains at 90+ or keeping it "legit" around 65-75. Great car with great mileage.
