Busted Boxster
Well, here's my poor baby:
http://home.comcast.net/~rgstlouis/images/boxster.jpg
Went into a tight "S" turn at about 25mpg, hit sand, and that's all she wrote. No airbag deployment. I need a new front trunk, right lens, compressor, radiator, paint and clear coat. (all this after I had the IMS, RMS, and clutch upgraded. Plus 4 new tires and a new top... (weep).

Sorry to hear what happened. But it doesn't really look that bad as long as there's no frame damage. Replacing radiator and other misc parts in that area is going to be a pain in ass. Perhaps you can look at upgrading your bumper. Is insurance covering the cost?

Sucks! Looks easy to fix, though.

famous last words.
sorry about the crash, at least the airbags didn't deploy.
out of curiosity, you said you went into the turn and hit sand. i assume you mean a wheel went off the road and into loose sand, causing you to lose control? or did the car lose grip and plow into a sand pile?

Thanks guys, I just slid sideways and was off the road in a split second. I'm in Virginia and the country roads frequently don't have shoulders. I went over a downed cedar tree (pretty small). Insurance is covering it all minus my deductible. Damage is estimated at $7300. I count my blessings that they didn't total it. No frame damage.

Adds up fast - I got hit in the door and the
tab was up to 13k in about 30 seconds. So they just totaled it out.
Glad nobody was hurt - the rest can be fixed.

+1, seems fixable, beautiful color too, so I'm right there with you being glad that it wasn't totaled.

A decent shop will have your car fixed and running in no time. Nothing critical damaged (frame or engine). You'll be as good as new!

I think a previous poster mentioned that he was hit in the door and his repair was 13k. Mine is 7.3k. Thanks for the comment on the color, I have not seen another since I've owned this car. People seem to love the color or hate it, lol. Been 3 weeks, guess I should get on the repair shop...
