What a concept!

Kudos to you for sharing what I find to be fascinating, detailed information in the performance arena...information to which many of us would not be otherwise exposed, and especially in a manner that we can understand it. Your explanations and the trouble that you go to so as to share your photographs and experience with us is very much appreciated.

I must say that your discipline in sticking with your initially stated goal, while keeping an eye out for what "Porsche" branded solutions may be unavoidable is fantastic! Your creative solutions as well as your experienced approach is most REFRESHING!

The fact that you unselfishly share all of this with us is an invaluable contribution, and I commend you for it.

Keep it coming!

Regards, Maurice.

Smile Most impressive!

I have been watching this car materialize in front of all us over the past weeks. I cannot get over the amount of thought and fabrication skills that are so evident in this project.

My hat is off to you kcpaz! Hope it all works out you have mad skills!

Been making some good progress lately. The wheels came in so I was able to mount some NT01's on them and make the car a roller (temporarily) to verify tire/wheel fitment with the quarter panels and suspension. I need to add some 8mm spacers on the rear so I can lower the back end of the car to a more appropriate ride height, but otherwise everything fits great so the next step is to start painting stuff.

Here is a teaser pic of the car on the ground for the first time in almost a year, and the Racepak dash that I mounted in place of the stock gauge pod.

I love that green you use. I saw it on another of your boxster builds. Looks great.

Am I just seeing things or is it likely that those top bars of the cage will interfere with that custom roof scoop's airflow? I figure that scoop is closed off from the cabin, but the cage seems almost too high above the windshield line from these shots. But it could just be me.

The roof scoop is seperate from the "hard top" and the rest of the interior. The bars from the cage are all within the hard top itself. I build the cages to get as much head room as possible which means going up into the hard tops as far as possible.

All of the paint work on the chassis is done which means I can really start assembly. Just have to start painting the body panels...

Was that an early-90s Taurus I saw in the background there?

I thought those were extinct!

Our cars don't rust out in AZ so miserable vehicles like that are able to suffer through long painful lives. Fortunately I don't have to work on that pile.

easy on thte taurus!!! there was a guy on ebay a few months back selling a mid-70's lotus esprit with a taurus sho engine in it ( the one with the funky-looking intake manifold designed by yamaha); that car could probably give any of our boxsters a run for their money (while it was running, that is).

The key there being "designed by Yamaha" i.e. Japanese designed which is why it was a good engine. The Taurus was a terrible car.

I'm no expert, but I think those rims are a little too skinny for this project... jk
