I just went to home depot in the Falls and picked up some scrap lumber (maybe only an inch or 2 high max) for abour $3 that I could drive the car onto to start ... they're really not bad and it helps me to get the jack underneath.

Ummmm. Wouldn't it be easier and cheaper to just buy a new floor jack that will fit under the car without hassle? Sounds like you are trying to solve a simple problem with a complex and expensive solution.

$1800? **************** that's all? I just spent twice that on 02 sensors, starter, alternator, clutch, rms, ims upgrade, coolant flush, mylanta, etc.

Those scissor jacks are nice an you can get them for around $1250 if you pick it up. Try ebay or craigslist. Occasionally you find someone who is no loner needing his anymore.

With regard to air jacks, also keep in mind race suspension travel is greatly limited; wheels/hubs drop only a small amount when lifted, compared to a street suspension.
I think you might find that the wheels could still be touching the ground when the jacks are deployed.
My car is lowered and I've been using the two-by-four method for years on all my P-cars, even with a very low jack.

Thanks, the scissor lift solves the whole problem and would be cheaper than the air jacks anyway but I appreciate the advice.
Cheers
