I dropped a Discovery off a high lift onto the brakes once, I NEVER work on a vehicle without jack stands in place. With my land rovers the clearance is 11" under the diffs so I don't have to jack anything to work under them but the Boxsters scare the hell out of me because my head will not fit under it in any position unless the car is raised.
