^Yes. The clutch and brake system feed off the same fluid reservoir in our boxster.

They share the same reservior but if the dealer didn't bleed the brake calipers, your brakes weren't serviced. Although it's hard to believe they wouldn't do the brakes.

Yes, your clutch and brakes use the same fluid. When you change the brake fluid, bleed the clutch as well.

*Edit* Oops. Looks like I should have clicked the "Page 2" link before adding my repetitive reply.

Samson, where do I get a bleeder kit for 10$?

most autoparts stores (PepBoys, Autozone, AdvandedAuto etc) carry them. You could evn make your own with some tubing and a jar.

I have a 99 and had the water logged booster issue. So while I was at it replacing the booster and retro kit to NOT get water logged again, I replaced the master cylinder and so had to drain the complete system. While I was at it I replaced the bleeder valves with speed bleeders from Pelican, painted my calipers, and replaced the rotors with drilled ones. I think its cheap insurance and the pedal feel is much improved.

Last time I used my motive bleeder, I heard a hissing noise. The tubing had a pin hole leak from age and was spraying brake fluid (very fortunately) away from the car. Watch that surgical tubing hose!!

I think most of us treat various cars differently for this topic. My Porsches yes I do flush every few years but my daily drivers are treated differently.
My Lexus sedan which I've owned since new (2001) now has 117k and my minivan which I use for long trips now has 140k (2003) both have original fluid. Yes I'm getting around to doing them but I don't treat them like my Porsches. I've owned other cars that I drive towards 200k miles and never flushed the fluids and never had a problem.

General maintenance I do them routinely but my parts are from your local autozone or Pep Boys for my daily drivers. My Porsches I tend to use OEM or Pelican or other reputable Porsche parts suppliers.
