HVAC Heater Core/Exchanger

I think my heater core/exchanger maybe going bad. It doesn't get very hot even on the highest setting. The blower blows strong. I have a 99' Boxster. I noticed this today. I fiddled with turning it up all the way to hi and full blast, i tried re-circulating, turning on the AC, turned it off then back one, i pretty much tried every setting to see if any of them made a difference. No difference, it just doesn't get very hot.

Anyone know of anything else that may be causing this? The part itself: Heat Exchanger, 996 572 129 DD doesn't look too complicated, and I think I could do it myself, but am curious if anyone else has ever attempted it.

Richard, can you recommend a good independent mechanic to service my Boxster?I don't really care to go to the dealer since my car is out of warranty.

Thanks,
Larez2

Has anyone done any work on any of their HVAC stuff, AC, blower or anything. I am just curious what peoples experience has been before I go it myself.

Thanks,
Larez2
