Hi Everyone,
I have 2001 black boxster S, I have speedster humps that won't lay down
in middle and at the curve. Do I add clips to it ? Any ideas.

Those grill inserts just look like the trim you buy at pep boys for $10 a roll to protect your doors from scratching other cars. Don't get me wrong, it looks really good on your car but it looks like you could have saved a bit just buying it at a parts store and cutting it yourself. Does it look something like this...

When people risk their lives, shouldn't it be for something very important?
Well, it better be.
But what is so important about driving faster than anyone else?
Lots of people go through life doing things badly. Racing's important to men who do it well.
When you're racing, it's life. Anything that happens before or after is just waiting.

Speedster humps
You probably already noticed this, but just in case...
The humps each have 2 molded tabs that engage under the lip of the bodywork. Be sure that you have slid both tab's under the lip. The correct fitting looks like the attachment with the hump conforming to the contour of the bodywork, with a very small consistent gap between the hump and the bodywork. Note: you can end up with one tab under and one over and this causes the hump to be above the curve of the bodywork!
The only other thing you need to do is latch them behind the seat belt upper mounting point and put the velcro straps though the slots at the center of the humps and around the rollbar to hold them down at the center of the car.

After all my mechanical needs are complete on my boxster, I'm gonna have to get it humped.
I love the look. Fortunately, there's a lot of boxster owners out there who will trade up or out of the Porsche line and put theirs on Ebay for cheap and I'll snag a set that way.

Ref. Speedster Humps:
"...there's a lot of boxster owners out there who will trade up or out of the Porsche line and put theirs on Ebay for cheap..."
???
I've been looking for a set on eBay for 6 months, and haven't seen one come up for sale yet, except for one guy selling an aftermarket single-hump unit.
Have I been looking the wrong place, wrong description, etc., etc? Parts & Access., "boxster speedster hump"???

I know this is a rookie question, but do the Speedster Humps have to come off to put the top up or down? And for that matter, can they be mounted at all with the cab top up? I seem to remeber seeing a few hardtops with the humps, but never a top-up cab with the humps.
Thanks.

Ronzi, send me a PM and I will forward any speedster humps I see on ebay to you. I do know you can buy a set of aftermarket humps for $600 or so, but you'll have to have them painted if I'm not mistaken. If this is around what you're willing to pay, PM me on that too and I'll look up the ads I found in Excellence magazine for them and get you the info.
Pete, yes, you must take down the top and then put on the humps. When the top (hard top or soft top) goes up, the humps have to be removed first. Humps are not for those days when you think you'll have to raise the top for rain or if you're headed to the mall and want to secure your car.
But, on the issue of security, theives who know the value of rollbar inserts and center windscreens will yank those out in a new york minute if you leave the top down in a parking lot, so I remove those and stow then in the trunk if I leave the top down. I would imagine they'd quickly remove the humps too if they knew they weren't bolted down to the car.
