I didnt see where he said it was a tip, but I did mine a few months back on my stick '00 boxster s. It is pretty tricky but I was able to do it without removing any of the tires. The hardest part for me was actually the hose on the bottom which has to be removed from the top of the car. That was a pain taking off and putting back on. Other than that, you just have to figure out a position where you can get in and get er done. There are certain positions that are easier than others. That would be my advice for next time (since I see you pretty much got it done).
