Steering this thread back on topic, I've never been able to do the Dr Colorchip method with much success. When I was at Parade back in 2014, they had a Dr C guy there who was doing a demo. He mixed up some paint for my CSS and did the dab & swipe method to perfection on 3 of my chips. He said he'd finish the rest of them for $80. I was already spending $$$ like a drunken sailor and since he'd shown me his technique, I figured I could do it myself. Wrong. Never came out like his demo. Probably the paint I got in the mail was thicker than the demo guy's but regardless it didn't come out well. Should have taken him up on his offer.
I have had success filling the chip and then coming back after it dries with some 1500 sand paper and leveling it out. Followed by rubbing compound, swirl remover compound, polish, and wax. Looks almost brand new but it's a lot of work, esp if you have a lot of chips to fill. And you have to be very careful you don't cut clear thru the clearcoat when sanding.
