There is nothing like having your 4 year old little girl ask you to go for a ride in the Porsche, put down the top and then before you leave the driveway out comes the High School Musical CD, she had so much fun singing her lungs out as we drove but I had more fun watching her.

So Yes I must admit I know who Ashley Tisdale is.

I hate to be stereotypical, but I would be willing to bet that girl has no idea how to drive a stick. And if she does she wouldn't use one as a DD in LA.
(Also, I have never heard of her before this)

No, didn't write it.....found it like that!

PS. I'd never heard of her either, but then again, I don't watch much TV/Movies.....too much mindless crap IMHO anyways.

I am not sure who Ashley Tisdale is....

BUT....I looked at the purse blog that the OP is referring to.

And I see what I think are adult women posting millions of messages about their new purses with titles such as "I did it i did it!! Im shaking like a leaf!! *IT'S HERE!!! PICS P. 17"

The purse forum actually has almost 7 million posts. It is hugely larger than our forum here.

I then did a search on Ebay to discover that some of these purses are priced from $50-100,000+ USD.....more than our Boxsters.

I am actually shocked.

Yeah, some purse prices are insanely crazy, like the Hermes Birkin, for example. While I admit it's not a bad looking purse, I don't think it's worth the price of a Boxster, even a used one. And it's probably one of the most coveted purses by a number of ladies.

Oh, and that one in the link I posted could be fake. It's not easy to find a real one.

Even a purse lover like myself doesn't have one nor do I want one. In a city like New Orleans, that thing could be gone in the blink of an eye and end up dumped in an alley by a crackhead who took the $5 that was inside.

Paying more than $100 for a purse is idiotic. But $50,000+ takes superficiality to a new height.

Hence the reason why a lot of women do not tell their men how much they spend on a purse. But I agree, 50k is ridiculous.

ha ha ha...this is a constant topic of discussion around here. I worked with a girl who had several dozen pairs of shoes and expensive hand bags. Tens of thousands of dollars. Clearly she had a problem. She had only a fraction of that amount sitting in stocks, IRA, etc.

That's the sad part. I know plenty of 'stay at home' wives who have no kids and just spend their money like there is no tomorrow on the latest Fendi (not even real leather!!!!!) bag but THEY CAN AFFORD TO DO IT...They're filthy rich and its no big deal. Mean while I know plenty of others who spend $500 a pair of shoes or $2K on a handbag and make no more than $100K a year. 2% of their personal income on a A bag?!
another reason why we hear these celebrities go broke after their 15 minutes of fame are up.

Glad you said all that. Even if you could afford to do it, there is a needy world out there that needs help. And if you can't afford to do it - get a grip on what matters.
Damn! I said I wouldn't say anything. Ooooooops.
Its pretty cool how LB can start a long thread on topics like a cute tween idol with good looking shoes.

I guess I'm sort of an anomaly (if that's the right word) because I love cars AND shoes and purses and clothing. As a kid I played with dolls and cars. I say just spend your money on what you want to spend it on. Shoot, my dad works with a guy who spent $10k on a hunting trip! I was like WTF? But hey, each to his or her own....

Where I live there are children without parents that live in the sewer system under the city.

I just don' get a crocodile bag costing $50K USD...or even $10K. I remember being offered bags made out of exotic animal skins like this for about $20 in some countries.
