If you have the alarm option the computer brain resides under the drivers seat. Once it's been moistened, it can create the effects you are describing. I don't know if anyone has been successful in drying techniques, I would also assume you cannot just replace said unit with just any other. Hopefully, someone else on the BB can help you with the path forward but I'm willing to bet it is the CPU.
