Garage
IMO the best time to do this would be between Oct 20 and Nov 5 when the leaves at their peak and temps are OK for top down driving. And never on a weekend. The tail is best enjoyed early in the morning or early evening on a weekday. We had it to ourselves and drove 9/10s.

I would be happy to give the Two Wheel Inn a call and see about room rates for us. The owner really liked us and said he would have garages that would accommodate a Porsche quite easily by September of 2008 and the room rates are great!
I am ready to call and make my reservations. What is our date?

I think I'm going to set up a new thread for this year's trip dates and put a way to vote for a weekend date for the event so we can choose it by majority availability. I'm free November 1-2 as well as Sept. 6-7 and probably another couple of weekends.

I concur that weekends are busier than week days on the dragon. However, trucks are not permitted to use the dragon on Saturday and Sunday, and they really do use it Mon-Fri because it shaves off 1.5 hours if they must go around it.

So, I highly recommend we plan a Sat-Sun event like last May and if you wish to come early or stay late and drive it on a weekday, go for it!

I just set up a new thread with a poll on dates for the trip. Please click here and vote for the date that works best for you or respond to the thread showing alternate dates you want to pitch to the interested forum members.
