Boxster On Jack Stands?

I want to replace my pads and rotors. When I do this this I want to redo my calipers as the clear coat is peeling. I might not have time the time to complete this in one session.

To keep from taking the wheels on and off, would it be ok (with a high quality set ) to leave the Boxster on Jack stands for a few days?

Sure. It's perfectly safe to leave it up for as long as you need to, provided you've placed the stands in proper locations.

Hi,

Not a problem. I had my Boxster on Jackstands for more than 2 weeks as I removed, painted and reinstalled the Calipers, installed new Pads, flushed the Brake Fluid, drained the Tiptronic, replaced the Filter, Gasket, Fluid, and cleaned the Radiators (in-between living Life).

No ill effects whatever. Just make sure you have the car as level (and consequently an equal amount of weight on each Jackstand) as possible.

If longer, I would Saran Wrap the Shock Piston Shafts to protect them from Dirt, Debris, and Corrosion as a portion of them is not normally exposed and could damage the seals when re-inserted. If lifted for an extended period, I might also support the struts to keep from stressing the Bushings in areas thay normally are not. Hope this helps...

Happy Motoring!... Jim'99
