Only problem with getting a 2000 or newer is that my insurance jumps up a good bit for anything over a 1999 Boxster.. And for that I could get a 2000 Firebird Formula for much cheaper on insurance and a note.. I want to save as much as I can so I can mod the car I get.. I just like the mid-engined layout now and I like how the Boxster has an actual trunk, unlike the MR2 Spyder..

Main reason I'm concerned about insurance is that I have a wreck that will be going on my record along with a careless operation ticket (cause I fell asleep at the wheel) which is how I lost the Spyder.. Long story short, I was coming home for Easter and I hadn't slept the night before.. and just ten miles from my house I fell asleep and put it in a four foot ditch.. Totaling it..

Granted, that will NEVER happen again and it was a very foolish mistake and I was lucky I didn't hit anyone else (although at 5am in the morning on a Saturday, my little country town almost seems uninhabited)

Tomorrow I will actually call up my insurance company and get a real quote on the Boxster, probably a couple of quotes.. one on a 1998 and one on a 2000 and 2002..

I may end up just sticking with the 2000 Firebird Formula because the insurance is really cheap on it and the guy i selling it for only $14,000.. But I have always admired the Porsche Boxster, just never thought I could afford one.. And now I see that the note and the insurance would have been cheaper than the Spyder (when I got the Spyder it was $20,000 with only 18k miles on it and I was the second owner.. great car and very reliable.. just doesnt do well when it hits a big ditch and no storage space what-so-ever)

On a side note, some of you may think that because I'm young I go street racing everyone and am stupid, but I'm really not.. I have NEVER raced the Spyder on the streets and brought it to a track only once and ran it 5 times that day and that was the last race it ever saw.. Not too much into racing.. just enjoy driving..
