IMO, the more highend european made mufflers are your best bet when you dont want the interior drone issue. I have a BRABUS exhaust with Resonator deleted in my MB E55 and there is absolutely NO drone even with the resonator delete mod.
False.

It has nothing to do with the country of origin of the muffler. It has everything to do with the construction of the overall exhaust system. The factory system is extremely complex, with tuned chambers and absorptive materials to cancel specific frequencies. The cheap custom exhaust that a local shop can build you doesn't have these designed-in features, so in the case of a Boxster it will create unpleasant tones. Simple as that.

Fixing the problem is far more complex. But it has nothing to do with the mufflers being "Amiercan."
