The balance of a Plasti-dip'd wheel isn't affected to any extent that you'd need to re-balance.
In terms of longevity - my wheels have been Plasti-dip'd for over a year ( http://986forum.com/forums/general-discussions/35614-plastidip-wheels-you-vote.html) and they still look great. I have touched them up twice with a 30 sec re-spray (I did not use the clear coat because I wanted a flat finish). I used PD on both my street and track wheels and it holds up incredibly well even in 100F+ temps at the racetrack. Removal takes a few mins per wheel - it peels right off. Its so easy, its silly.
