I hardwired my V1 this afternoon. Took me all of 20 minutes without any hand tools except a tiny screwdriver which I only used to push the cord into the dash. I used this website
http://gallery.rennlist.com/gallery/albur30 and it helped a lot, untill I tested my V1 and realized he mixed up his wires (or 996's are different) because for me the black and green wire was switched power. Its super easy to find the plug too, mine was tucked under the center console but I saw a tiny bundle of wires and pulled on it untill the plug popped up. I recomend it! My V1 is right beside the rear view mirror like that guys in the picture, but a little lower (level with the rear view mirror).
