Acrtually my old Gemballa exhaust would set off alarms left and right. This new bumper is designed from RUF parts. My new muffler is made by RUF and the diffusor is made by RUF as well. The Gemballa rear bumper is simular but different in design. You can see it on the Gemballa website. It is also much much more expensive. I am going to bring a sound recorder in the car today and put it in the trunk while driving and hopefully I can get a few good soundbites

Got you Jm! I assumed it was the Gemballa, I actually looked at it closer on there website on there BI-Turboed 986, I like your's a bit more, do they offer different style's of the diffuser?. Looks completley custom, you will never see your twin on the road! Do you know if Ruf's 3600S diffuser make it to production?

I still have a 2.7L in this car. Next winter I am planning an upgrade to a 3.4L and at the same time the TTP twin turbo bolt on kit. My expected output with just those upgrades should put me at about 475 HP Currently I am running around 285 Hp, and yes it was Dyno'd at that.

My god Miller, by the time you are done with your boxster you will have more money than the cost of a 911 turbo wrapped up into that thing. Doesn't the conversion alone cost approx 15K? What's the turbo run, 6-7k? pLus who knows what else to handle the extra juice! Then we have all that wonerful stuff called labor charges. Well, I guess when your done you can say no one has a boxster quite like mine!

Actually I dont have plans for a 911 or should I say 996 in the near future. I am quit happy with the idea of having a 986 that is completely modified. My next purchase will be for my wife. I want to get rid of her ML320 and get her a Cayanne. Hopefully this summer. Actually what I am looking to do, I have been quoted another 15 k for it all. I dont pay a full rate on labor charges at the shop I goto. We have a deal, I take all my cars to one shop and my labor rate comes to about half, which works out to about $30-35 an hour. Yeah in the end I probably could have bought a 911, but I really like the idea of having a totally unique mid-engine 986 over having the same 996 as the guy next to me. THe money it costs to upgrade the 996 the way I want would cost me twice as much!
I can already say noones 986 is like mine, but still want s 0-60 mph in 3.2 seconds! Give me my Turbos!!!

Adam I understand your logic and agree, but the concept of a boxster with greater than 996 turbo power, in the 986's mid engine design is incredible, I am in all favor of such a car, it would run circles around a 996 turbo, right? It takes a dedicated enthusiast to carry out such a task,

Thx, I really should put a new pic of the bumper up/ The ones on this site are a little sloppy. The shop readjusted the rear spoilers and put the license plate on properly. Few minor details to clean up the look.
Thx for the compliment! I am glad that all the hard work looks good
Porschecrazy: I agree, thats why I am doing it. I love the idea of the 986 running circles around its big brother

Your car looks incredible. Great imagination on the design. What engine mods are you planning?

Well I have already started I have done headers back to exhaust, TTP cold air intake, Gemballa wide throttle body, iridium plugs, custon ECU mapping on a Dyno and the TTP high performance clutch. I do plan to bore my engine to a 3.4 and do the TTP twin turbo package. I have held off on doing it for a while wince I have been working on other areas of the car...Suspension and body work are completed.

I've been lustig after this GT2 nose before I even bought my 2000 S!
I thought "wow add this and I have one really exotic looking car"
Is it the fiberglass/polyuerthane mix? I located one and they offered to paint the nose and the aerokit II sideskirting for $600. Do you think it will just bolt on after its been painted?

After doing perofmances mods to my previous car I'm really not in a hurry to go through all that again. It really transformed the car but this car is great straight out of the "BOX" So I'm hoping I won't have to lower it with this body kit just for the sake of appearance.

Anyone have any good links for lightweight wheels not made by Porsche?(my previous 15" Autocross wheels were 13 pounds, I think my 17" S wheels are 30 pounds!)

By the way JFmillr,
I agree 100% I ALWAY dreamed about a 911 1973 RS with Tartan seats, and then settled on the idea of a 996. But after driving a Boxster I'm not sure that I would give it up for a tin top and more ponies. I think a convertible 911 is blasphemy so really its a Boxster or broke for me. This season I'll be autocrossing my S against all the other 911's (my local club rules bump up the S one class) with a nice set of Victoracers or Azenis I'm curious to see how well I'll do against the Boxster's big brother.

With the mods that you've done, what horsepower gains have you noticed & was it worth the money. I'm looking to do a few things to my 99, but I was told by the local porsche race team that I'm better off getting a 3.4L or changing to the new "S".
