I still have the black and red wheels, they are fitted with the snow tires I use in the winter.
I think you might be right about the stripes being too much. They were actually put there for 'camouflage'. I f*ed up royally before Christmas, working on the engine. Didn't put any cloth over the fender, and didn't notice a button on my sweater - aaaand you can figure the rest.
The scratches are luckily not that deep, but I need proper cutting/polishing equipment and/or a proper detailer guy to remove them.
The lights are connected to the high beams, with a separate relay and switch.

Not so sure about "too much".
This can only be solved per definition.
A clean car (no visible mods) = Yes, everything but OEM is too much.
A personalized car = No, the stripes are not too much.
It all depends on your preference.
I like the stripes. I like personality

Yes, there it is, battered, bruised and dirty! And even me, lurking under that tree in the background!
It was very nice talking to you and your wife, and I really like your yellow Boxster as well. Such a cool color. And what an awesome trip it was! Great cars, great people! I did a total of 875 kilometres over 15,5 hours that Saturday. Was very tired when I got home!

Yes, weather has been extremely fine the past weeks. The hottest May ever registrered in Norway! About 30 degrees C that Saturday.
IT was a 996/986 only trip. A group of Norwegians met a group of Swedes at the border, and went for a trip in the Swedish countryside. Two nice meals at very cool sites. About 30 cars in total.

Wow would love a trip like that, i cant even find a local porsche club here. Closet club is 3 hours away.
I live in Southern Spain and our temps are in the low 20s now, 15 in the morning. Crazy.

Had to test if there is enough room back there. And there is!
- Why does he have a kid's bike on there?
Well, at 47 one should think that bike belonged to either his kid, or even grand-kid. But no, it's mine. As many did I grew up in the 80's and rode a bmx, but stoppet when I got older. In '98, when my first son was born, I had seen bmx freestyle videos for years, and discovered that they were available in Oslo (some 100 km from where I lived). So, I treated myself to a Hoffman George.
I rode that for some time, together with kids (actual kids) half my age, got a job at Norway's biggest bike distributor, built new bikes, and rode them for the next decade. I was never any good, though, but was great fun.
Then, a divorce later, I found a new life in another city, and pretty much stopped riding my little bike, and it was scavenged for parts for a dirt jumper (26") and my now teenage son's bikes.
But lately, I've been itching to get back on a fun little bike again. And last year, when Haro announced that they would make a Dave Mirra tribute bike, with a mid-school look and new school tech, I began to drool. This spring a Norwegian web site had two of these at a quite good discount, and my brain started spinning again, and then - f*k it! I want it!
I had the SeaSucker Talon bike rack in the garage, having not used it since had had my freeride bike atop my SC a few years ago, and I thought - it might fit back there. And it did - barely!
I better disable the spoiler, or have to keep it under 110 km/h!

Nice! Remark in my iPhone "if I have any questions assembling bikes, ask nevergrowup"
Building a cruiser at the moment as I don't see myself on my old school 10-speed racing bike with click-ons anymore. When that is done, conversion to e-bike. And again, why easy when I can have it the hard way...lol.

OK, here's my update in the looks department for the 2019 season. I decided to move forward with the black and gold theme, and although I know Porsche never had a sponsorship with John Player Special, I think the old, iconic livery is so cool I thought I'd go for an attempt.
I found some JPS logo stickers on ebay, and even if they were smaller than I'd hoped for I started planning my homage. I found some matte black vinyl and gold pinstriping on ebay as well, and spent many nights planning it out in my head.
And I think it came out pretty good. Since the pictures were taken, I have fixed the clashing Martini stripes on the licence plate holders, and I'll get to refurbing the wheel bolts as well.
I think it matches the interior pretty well too.
Many S owners get their panties in a bunch when you paint the calipers red (as I had), I thought why not go back to black, and found some gold Brembo stickers to finish it off.
I had many iterations in my head before I went for this. Split the stripe and put the logos in the middle. Hand cut with a ruler and a scalpel. Not perfect but good enough.
And of course the same at the rear:
Not everybody likes him, but think Magnus Walker is a cool dude. Here's his autograph from when he visited Norway last fall:

Although I stopped smoking 20 years ago, it still is a very fitting theme (color wise).
I think you wanted to resemble the 911 "sport classic" stripes, so I see why the stripes are not going all the way. Did you try a glossy black as well?
Approved by Magnus Walker...pretty cool
and now approved by BRAN
