If your the one who inserted the bulbs/LED in the tailight, keep in mind pins cannot be inserted in any direction like a conventional bulbs.

At first glance.... the yellow piece is a backup battery. The silver box might be an alarm or a GPS logger ?
You should cut the tie wrap and remove the battery and look at the label underneath !
