Stripping my Boxster

Hi all,
Does anyone know what this is, it's wired into the amp so I'm guessing something to do with the stereo but it's just been screwed into the bulk head rather poorly!!
Thanks

At first glance.... the yellow piece is a backup battery. The silver box might be an alarm or a GPS logger ?
You should cut the tie wrap and remove the battery and look at the label underneath !

If you google the barcode number that can be see, '5trk0100uk', you get results like...

MOTOROLA CAR TRACKER WITH BATTERY 5TRK0100UK | eBay

So looks like an old Motorola car tracker & battery.

Garage
Tracking/locating box (similar to LoJack in the US). Usually for insurance discounts, so that they can find your car if it's stolen.
