How the heck do you disconnect the exterior door handle from the door latch mechanism? I see the little black J connector but one end has a pin with the world's tiniest lock washer and the other end...

Just did it myself too a month or two ago. It certainly is a pain - just keep hitting and struggling and cursing. Spray the bushings with PB Blaster or similar product. Leverage with screwdrivers....

Finally got to inspect at least one scavenging...
Finally got to inspect at least one scavenging pump - not sure exactly how they go bad it's just a metal piece turning. The other is at least installed correctly from the outside - looks like a PITA...
