Viper, when you say that many radar detectors are junk, what exactly do you mean? Do they not detect radar/laser? Are they unreliable giving false positives? Are they too slow to detect effectively...

Guess you are right about the quarter tank indications. It just looked odd to me.

Last weekend I saw a car with a plastic wrap on the hood. It was a non- replective black, but if you like that sort of thing, it looked technically good. One application of this might be on bumpers....
