I would comment that, while this may work, keep in mind that melamine foam is actually a very fine sandpaper. I'd be cautious of surfaces, leather steering wheel being one.

I haven't tried the combo on the 986 yet. I have done the IPD and an 82mm on my 996. It made a difference there and when I also added a quality set of headers the component combination was awesome....

The only part of this I can compare, cost wise, I just had the IMS done on my 996 and my Indy charged...
