Finally got around to installing them

:) Been a so busy I couldn't take 5 minutes to install my new Das Schild liners. I think they dress up the trunks a bit and although I can see there might be a concern about rubbing I think I may...

How long have you been running the GS-D3's?

I assume you bought your 01 boxster used since these tires were new but I don't see them listed anywhere as an N spec tire. How is the tread wear? Noise? I keep teetering back and forth as to weather...

Placed the order yesterday

Well - I went ahead and ordered the set since they were 30% off. I wouldn't think they would act like a truck bedliner since we shouldn't be getting any kind of standing moisture in our trunks - i.e....

You are pretty much spot on

Actually the order is just right. Since I am not tearing up the streets ride and noise are top's on my list. Performance is nice for the occasional on ramp. Longevity - well you just can't expect a...

Dasschild - Trunk shield - anyone got these

Looks like a pretty nice addition to the Boxster - won't help performance but might save a ding or two and maybe dress things up a little. Just wondering if anyone had one and like it.

Time for new tires - let the debate begin

OK I know - Tires are totally subjective but it is still a great thread to bring in the new year with. I am due and will need to pick some up in the next couple of weeks. I was thinking about a set...

Curbed one of my wheels looking for suggestions

Took my Boxster for a nice vacation this past week. As I am driving out of the parking lot heading home I made a turn and felt the rear lift just a little and then heard a loud scrapping sound as my...

Still learning about my Boxster

I was wondering if it is normal to feel the shifter move as the engine tourque changes. For example. I am driving along in say third gear at 4-5k rpms. Then if I let off the accelerator and as the...

Anyone removed their BOXSTER emblem on the trunk?

I snagged the BOXSTER emblem on the rear trunk when washing it the other night and the "B" is peeled up just enough to annoy me. I tried gluing it down but since it is basically the foam that has...

So which bumpers can you put on a 986 Boxster

I didn't want to hijack the other thread bout the GT2 bumper so I decided to start another one. Sorry for my apparent ignorance but being a total newbie to the world of Porsche I find buper options...

I just like my cars - they aren't beaters - they are family.

I am not rich by anymeans but I just can't part with my cars. I buy them because I really like them - they aren't just transportation - so in effect I have a Boxster and 3 1/2 beaters.

Since they...

Yep - had it happen to our TT

It even happened at a car show of all places! Someone caved in the passenger door and decided it would be cool to leave without saying anything. That sucks. But hey - in the end you have a Boxster...

Thanks for the info guys

I'll have to check out this All Data thing - looks like it could be interesting. I got my Land Rover manuals and they are actually really good for the DIY guy. Same with my 280Z and CRX. Haven't seen...

Anyone have/use the factory service manuals

I know I just got my boxster but I generally I like to service my cars for most of the basics. Anyone have the factory manuals or any of the manuals listed on Ebay? Just wondering if they were of...

What's the consensus on to space or not to space?

Spacers would make the car look better but everything I have heard in the past about putting on spacers was that it would put extra stress on the wheel bearings and cause the need for more frequent...

The TT is running Ecsta 712's - still got the original Michelins on the Boxster

Quote:

Which Ecsta's do you have? 711, 712, ASX? The Ecsta ASX are bi-directional and have the lowest noise level and longest wear. The 711 & 712 are uni-directional and very soft for a tacky...

Socratic - which Kumhos are you running?

I have the Ecsta's on our TT coupe and they are louder than a freight train after about 10k. They grip is good and the ride is nice but the noise is ridiculous. Are your's really a decent noise level?

Had my 2003 for a month so far and put 1000 miles on it...

Got it with only 7k and then put 400+ miles on it driving it back to FL from NC. Love this car! My wife says she may even like it better than her TT coupe and I never thought I would hear her say...

What kind of life expectancy can I expect out of a Boxster clutch? My TT has got a good 50k with no problems but my old Honda CRX needs a new one about every 40k. What kind of money are we talking to...

I thought the tech was being a little extreme but since this is my first Porsche I wasn't sure what to expect. 2 Land Rover Freelanders in the family - 1 of which is driven by a little old lady - and...

How often do you change brake pads?

I just picked up my 2003 with 7k miles on it. I asked the dealer how often I would be looking at brakes - he said about every 15k and I would need new pads and rotors since the rotors don't have...

Anyone using any kind of paint protection film like StoneGard, etc.

Hello everyone - I'm new to this forum. Just picked up my 2003 Speed Yellow boxster last week. After seeing the effect of 5 years worth or driving on my 2000 TT I'd like to protect the front end of...
