Cubbyhole Umbrella

The cubbyhole umbrella offered by the Porsche Driver's Selection seems like a great solution, but I've always balked at its high price (over a hundred bucks!).

There's lots of mini umbrellas out there, but until recently, I couldn't find one that utilized the entire area.

Picked this one up at Marshalls, an off-price department store, for less than ten bucks.




Weatherproof style: WP-M-540. Dimensions: 13" x 2.5". Fits snugly in the cubbyhole, has a sewn in handle in the cover for easy removal. Complete with carabiner so one can fasten it to a belt loop for hands-free carry.

FYI, it was given three (100%) 1-star reviews on Amazon. You might want to make sure it opens before you're caught in the rain.

Yep, cubbyhole is the same for these models:
- Boxster Models - 1997-2013
- 911 Carrera Models - 1999-2013
- Cayman Models - 2006-2013

If it doesn’t work right, I’ll fix it. The main thing is that it fits (and it looks like a near perfect fit).

Used the umbrella in the rain for the first time today. Just watch out when you press the release button. The frame shoots out like a rocket. Best to put your hand over it before it explodes. YMMV.
