I have a 2001 Boxster with a CR-220 radio with a cd-changer. AUX was and still is enabled. I called the manufacture PIE and they told me that this connecter does not allow audi thru the ipod connector, that it lacks resistors. The ipod connector does charge the iphone, just doesn't play audio thru it.

Any information you can pass along will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
I have the ipod dock cable only and it works both for charging and audio. I don't have an iPhone but my iPod video works great.]

Does NOT work for me

I received my new cable today (http://www.discountcarstereo.com/detail.aspx?ID=993), and same results, charges but NO audio from my Iphone. I don’t know if it's because I have an Iphone or maybe because my radio is a CR-220 (opposed to a CDR-220???). So I'm going to use the original cable I bought with the 3 inputs, and connect this RCA cable (http://www.discountcarstereo.com/detail.aspx?ID=1015). Hopefully this will allow me to charge and receive audio from my iphone. I'll post my results when the stuff arrives.

I tried to read through this thread but it was a little long. Did I miss if anyone got the one from Epiq? I did it works with a few different radios mine is a CDR-220 w/ EQ. Think it was shipped for $30. Then I went to Best Buy and got the Monster Cable RCA to mini jack for another $25. I am very happy with this set-up.

MN, I'm not sure about the Cable you mentioned, but the problem seems to be with the IPHONE specifically.

After speaking with PIE and other electronic companies apparently the iphone does not work with cables that are more sophisticated like I have purchased and listed below. So, there are apparently two options that I am aware of if you have an IPHONE: (1) The UNI POD from PIE (http://www.discountcarstereo.com/detail.aspx?ID=887), or (2) the IC-RCA from PAC (http://www.keenzo.com/showproduct.asp?M=PACIFIC-ACCESSORY--PAC&ID=1254715&ref=GB). Both allow charging and audio for an IPHONE. I have called both companies and have been ensured these cables will work with the IPHONE. I just ordered the PAC cable and I will post results after installation.

NOTE: these cables above are to be used with any of the cables ( i.e. Becker, PIE, ect) that enable/allow RCA input into our radio.

Success.

Ok, I received the IC-RCA cable today from PAC and everything works with the Iphone: I have audio through the speakers and it charges my iphone. Note: the IC-RCA cable cuts audio out on the left speakers if the cable moves. *sigh* . Sooooo, I’m just going to draw the cable at an angle so it doesn’t move or cut out. I’m tired of ordering cables and reinstalling them. Hope this helps anyone with an Iphone.

Did IPOD Aux Cable-Can't Get Cupholder Back In

Hi All, need help: I spent last weekend putting in the discountstereo IPOD cable (and Pelican rear speaker kit)...the good news is it sounds and works great, but I had to pull out the cupholder to feed the stereo wires back in..thus the bad news: I can't get the cheeseball cupholder back in! There are two flimsy plastic triangular brackets that the whole unit screws into, and they fall out and I see no way to hold them in place to screw the holder unit back in. Even tried pulling the stereo again (aaaargh). Any ideas? I remember someone mentioning the cupholder slides come out of the frame, to the front-is this the idea? I'm contemplating a hot glue gun or sumpin sumpin to hold the A brackets still while I come in from the front.

Thanks in advance
Roger

I have been reading this thread and my head wants to explode. Is there any ipod adapter solution for am '08 987 with Bose Stereo and no navigation that will not involve drilling and allow me to return to stock when ipods/iphones become as obsolete as a betamax? It sounds as if the FM Transmitter adapters are not really that good, especially in highly populated areas.
