Need to Replace 02 cats, what years work?
Hi all,
Need to replace both the mid cats on my 02 boxster S so I can get it smoked.
Looking to buy some used ones but only seeing 2001 and 2003 available. Will either of these work with an 02? The seller of the 03 set seemed to thing they would not fit correctly. Anyone know which years work on an 02 s? If someone has some let's discuss. Thanks!

I have my stock set that I just pulled of 00 base. I'm in KY though so Id think that shipping will cost more than the parts lol.

2000-04 2.7 and 3.2 use the same exhaust manifolds. The 03/04 have a different part number but they're the same and will fit. I've sold about 100 exhaust manifolds and no one has had a problem. FYI, catalytic convertors are almost worth their weight in gold right now. I'd say anything under $150 each is a good price

986SantaBarbara, you will have to source and buy the used cats Outside CA as I believe that by law you cannot buy used cats in CA (yes it sucks..)

Dang, why is that? Supply vs demand?

No, CA law, no one is allowed to trade in used catalytic converters.

HI guys, I found a used set in CA from an 01 s. Not cheap. to be clear we're not talking about the header cat combo, but the second cat between the muffler and header.
So to be clear...
A 2000S-2002S second cat are all the same? Appreciate the support and help. To the guy in KY, shipping can't be that bad and I'll cover it if you want to sell that pair and ship to me. Thanks all!

A dirty little secret is that a missing secondary cat will not throw a code, so if the state inspection just looks at codes, like in Massachusetts, then you will be fine with cat delete pipes instead.
