Weird grinding/scratching noise when engine turns over

I’m looking at a 2000 Porsche Boxster. It’s got everything I’m looking for in a car. 115k miles, new tires, brakes, and everything works - priced at 7k. Only thing is that it makes this weird grinding noise when the engine turns over. I took a video here :
https://youtube.com/watch?v=ObC_J-OLXRA&feature=youtu.be

Can anyone help diagnose this? Is it a buy/no buy?

I can't tell anything from the video.
Does the noise go away once the engine fires up??

Yeah, same here. I don't hear anything in that video.

Right at the end I hear the starter grinding. Check out Burner's YouTube about doing the starter. Seems like he demonstrates the 'before' noise.

Garage
sounds like the starter...no impact on the price of the car. This is a maintenance item, easy to fix, even if you replace the whole starter or rebuild it yourself.
