Big Brake Kit for 987 - Will It Fit a 986?

As the title above implies, I've found a Big Brake kit which was apparently designed around 987 rotors. The seller is uncertain as to whether or not the kit's larger disc specs and offsets are the same as those found on our 986's.

So, does anyone here know if the front brake rotors for a 987 are identical to those found on a 986?

Thanks - DM

Rotors are the same, i think 2006-8 S and 2009-12 both, but wheel carriers/calipers are different, but most of the vendors that sell BBK would know the differences and probably have the adapters.

Edit: At least i am planning to move my Sebro slotted rotors from my 2000S to my 2009 base, so we'll see pad shapes, are similar but 2000S pad is 4+mm too tall for the 987.2 base caliper.

Thanks, Steve!

In hindsight, a bit of background info might have better explained my situation.

It all started with this thread: http://986forum.com/forums/performance-technical-chat/71446-diy-big-brake-rotor-upgrade.html. Specifically, see my post no. 16.

Then, as a follow-up, I checked their website this week and found this kit: https://freakyparts.co.uk/collections/porsche-boxster-987-brakes That's the only Boxster kit which they show, with no mention as to whether or not this 987 kit might also fit our 986's.

So I shot them an e-mail asking this question, and received the following reply (cut and pasted):

Hi Dave

I believe the early 986 uses smaller discs, but if they use the same calipers and hubs as found on the 987 to work with the 318mm front discs, this kit should work.
The shipping costs on the kit would be £80.00

Thanks

Note that USA folks would not have to pay their VAT so that cuts the cost of the kit. But since we are looking at over $100.00 USD for shipping, the cost and hassle of returning the rotors, should they not correctly fit a 986, would be a relatively expensive hassle.

----------------

And so, there's the reason why I am calling the question here!

Thanks - DM

Stu has made these kits for guys on Boxa.net Patt is mates with him hence he helped make th it originally for his 2001/2002 986S. A version was then bought by a user 911-32 I can't recall all the exact detail but there was a minor issue with perhaps the length of the spacer bolt but it was resolved very quickly.
